Our Deputy Chair of Trustees, Angela Ward, was invited to represent The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre at a meeting arranged as part of the Amplifi initiative in Tunbridge Wells, which saw a selection of local corporates introduced to charities in our area.

In addition to giving a presentation, there was a ‘speed dating’ session, where all the charity representatives were able to meet (for four minutes) with each corporate.

The businesses in the room included Childrensalon (a long time supporter of Pickering); Crowe UK; S&W; Yoyo Design; Lloyds Banking Group; and Handelsbanken.

The event was held at the offices of Cripps in Tunbridge Wells and hosted by Amplifi co-founder Pete Kenyon, along with Lila Dowie, who runs the not-for-profit sector group for Amplifi.

“It was a really valuable way to meet local businesses and also to discover more about what other charities are doing in our area,” says Angela. “A huge ‘thank you’ to Pete and Lila for giving up their time to organise this really useful session.”
