The weather might have been atrocious on Friday 3 October but there was an oasis of calm and a warm welcome at The Lounge in Uckfield, where its lovely owner, Genevieve, is running a whole month of fundraising for The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre, the highlight of which was the mammoth 12-hour Cancer Connect Day!
Our Deputy Chair of Trustees, Angela Ward, popped down first thing and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and a delicious cup cake.
The Cancer Connect Day included some pop-up sessions, where local experts dropped in to provide impromptu treats, including mindful art, breathwork, relaxation breaks and aromatherapy hand massages. Or, you could treat yourself to the 15-minute relax zone, where you can lie back, listen to gentle music and recharge.
If you visit during October, why not add to The Lounge’s Gratitude Window, in return for a donation to Pickering.
Genevieve says she’s aware of the support we provide at Pickering and adds that she often points her customers in our direction, which is great to hear.
While The Lounge is a coffee shop and Pamper Lounge by day, it transforms into a wine bar and cocktail lounge by night. It’s open until 10.00pm, near the station in Uckfield, and Genevieve would love to welcome you.
Thank you to Genevieve for supporting The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre!
