We are very grateful to TWODS – Tunbridge Wells Operatic & Dramatic Society – for donating a number of tickets to its current production, The Sound of Music, to The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre. We’ve been able to give them to some of our visitors, who have been thoroughly enjoying the show this week at the Assembly Hall Theatre.
TWODS can always be relied upon to create incredible musical theatre and this week’s production is on another level. From the nuns in the opening scenes in the abbey through to the talented Von Trapp children, as well as the Captain and, of course, Maria – everyone has been stunning! To be honest, the show is worth seeing for the sets alone – with audiences being transported effortlessly between Austrian mountains, the abbey and the gardens of the Captain’s country house.
