The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre originally opened our doors at the Homeopathic Hospital in Tunbridge Wells on Friday 26 November 2004 and moved into our current home in Monson Road in July 2007. While that home has provided a warm and cosy hub for visitors – and their friends and family – since then, now is the time for us to ‘come of age’ and move to a Centre that is larger, more suitable to the needs of our visitors, as well as being more accessible.
We’d love to have some proper office space for our team; quiet areas for visitors, who need some space; an even bigger cosy lounge area; and more therapy rooms, so visitors can benefit from an even wider range of treatment options.
Visitor, Steve, has benefited from a number of the therapies available to our visitors, including massage and reflexology. He explains: “I find that it really helps my mind and it’s an opportunity to release some fear.”
Volunteer, Ruth, says our volunteer therapists are ‘all amazing’ adding: “You can see our visitors look visibly more relaxed after a session of say reflexology. It helps them so much.”
